Electric tractors have moved on quickly. Here is what is new across Sukoon's machines, and why each change matters in the field.
What has changed
- LiFePO4 batteriesOur farm machines, the KR-GEN 4, the Krishi Maharaj-750 and the Haldhar 750, use lithium iron phosphate cells. The Haldhar 750's packs are rated for 3,000 cycles and sealed to IP67, and the KR-GEN 4's battery carries a five-year warranty.
- Brushless (BLDC) motorsThe KR-GEN 4 runs on a 1200 W BLDC motor and the Krishi Maharaj-750 on a 1500 W one: few wearing parts and full torque from a standstill.
- Full-time 4×4The Haldhar 750 drives all four wheels from two motors, for slopes and wet fields that stop a two-wheel drive.
- Electric implementsThe KR-GEN 4's E-Rotavator, E-Reaper, Boom Sprayer, E-Earth Auger and Surface E-Water Pump each have their own BLDC motor, so the implement is powered from the battery, quietly and with little vibration.
- One platform for the whole seasonAttachments now cover all seven stages of farming, from preparing the soil to hauling the harvest home, so one machine works through the year.
Why it matters
- Less to payOver 85% lower running cost than diesel, per hour of work.
- Less to maintainNo engine oil, fuel filters or injectors to service, so fewer breakdowns.
- Cleaner workNo exhaust and little noise; no carbon at all when charged from solar, and over 80% less CO₂ than diesel on grid power.
